Launch of Y-Vote website and Concert date announced

On the 3rd of May, people up and down the country will be going to the polls to elect their National Institutions and Local Governments.

While this is such an important election, it is estimated that only a 3rd of our young people aged between 18 and 24 will vote and make their voice heard. This despite the fact, that many of the decisions that will be taken will directly affect this age group.

All political parties and community organisations have emphasised the need to engage with young people. Y-Vote will lead the way in engagement of young people into the political process with a new, innovative and creative approach.

Y-Vote uses a combination of music and political education to engage more young people into the political process.

Y-Vote is to initiate a youth engagement campaign culminating in a concert in the run-up to this year's elections targeted specifically at those aged between 18-30. At this event we will be encouraging greater voter registration and greater voter turnout amongst young people.

he concert will be on the 29th March at the Carling Academy, Glasgow.

Regular updates will be available on this site and tickets will be available soon. Join our email list to get regular updates on which bands will be performing and to get tickets first.
